Acquired Tooth Stains: these types of tooth stains happen due to exposure of your smile to certain types of foods drinks or other dieting habits. If you are under the age 15 and are taking tetracycline then you may want to talk to your doctor. Tetracycline has been linked to teeth staining in children that can permanently effect your smile. If this antibiotic can be avoid then it is for the best. If not then you may have to take this antibiotic, but you should at least know the risks and talk to your doctor.
Hereditary causes: There are also hereditary causes of tooth staining that are passed down from family member to family member. If you are in a family that has tooth staining and you do not have the above risk factors for tooth staining you may want to talk to your dentist.
